Hello everybody,
I'm looking to get some input from you guys to make up my decision.
I'm a 45 years old business economist (HWV) and got an MBA in San Diego back in
1995. Currently I live in Switzerland and as everybody knows, the economic
situation for Switzerland is very challenging - so is the job market.
I'm now considering returning to the United States in order to get a PhD. From
what I know, I think it would take between two and three years.
There are several reasons for me to consider to return to the university. One
is certainly to escape the bad job market here in Switzerland. Another reason
is the hope that I would be able to find a job as a professor at a university
in the U.S. after I got the PhD.
From your experience, how do you guys assess the chances for a Swiss national
to get a job as a university professor in the United States?
