Last year I imported my Cadillac Eldorado into CH. It dropped it off
in San Jose and had it delivered to Basel. The transport price was less
than
$2000. CH transport companies tried to overcharge, 4500SFr. The company
I used is called something like Aladdin Freight, I found them on the
Internet.
Regarding getting the car through Swiss customs. This depends on how
long
you have been living in the US. If more than six month, the car is
Uebersiedlungsgut, not taxed (you might want to have this confirmed with
Swiss Customs). Otherwise you'll have to pay the TVA and some tax in
function of the weight of the car.
Regarding getting Swiss number plates. If the car was build in 1995 or
even later, you'll be able to get swiss number plates without any
restrictions. Otherwise you need a Typenpruefung, which is quite
expensive (~5000SFr). In general, you'll be allowed to drive the car for
1 year with US number plates (SECURA insures cars with US number
plates!).
I hope this helps.
