good article. Thanks for Swiss cunning advertisement! I
would like to again-speak however one point: For researchers the wages are high and the conditions of work here well, are located in the article. Thus, the Postdocs, which I know, earns at the most equal much as in Switzerland. Life costs are however rather high here, controls find also happig I. Are operated here also more hours than in Switzerland, my opinion after. And holidays/social security benefits should not be forgotten.
Therefore I find that the predicate in the article arouses a false impression. BUT, one has good possibilities in the research here, since one has 240 million a national economy behind the research budget, not 7 million. That can mean that in a special field a place and a research money can be found here, while Switzerland is not large enough, in order to support this branch of research fully. Besides Americans are rather hot more career on one business and not an academic career.

Ich möchte aber einem Punkt wiedersprechen: Für Forscher seien die Löhne
hier hoch und die Arbeitsbedingungen gut, steht im Artikel. Also, die
Postdocs, die ich kenne, verdienen höchstens gleich viel wie in der
Schweiz. Lebenskosten hier sind aber eher hoch, Steuern finde ich auch
happig.
Gearbeitet werden hier auch mehr Stunden als in der Schweiz, meiner Meinung
nach. Und Ferien/Sozialleistungen sollten nicht vergessen werden.
Deshalb finde ich, dass die Aussage im Artikel einen falschen Eindruck erweckt.
ABER, man hat gute Möglichkeiten in der Forschung hier, da man eine 240
Millionen Volkswirtschaft hinter dem Forschungsbudget hat, nicht 7
Millionen. Das kann heissen, dass in einem Spezialgebiet hier eine Stelle
und Forschungsgeld gefunden werden kann, während die Schweiz nicht gross
genug ist, um diesen Forschungszweig voll zu unterstützen. Zudem sind
Amerikaner eher heiss auf eine business career und nicht eine akademische
Laufbahn. Deshalb sind ausländische Forscher, die zu den (niedrigen)
Forscherlöhnen arbeiten, herzlich willkommen.

Du hast recht, ich habe eigentlich nicht an Post-Docs gedacht, als ich "hohe
Löhne" schrieb, aber ich hätte den Begriff nicht so verwenden sollen. Deine
Klarstellung würde ich an den Tagi senden, da sie den Artikel ergänzt:

Indeed it is, and that's exactly what my text said. However, it somehow got
printed as Lexron, probably when the article got bumped to page 9 because of
the Expo-Story. Druckfehler, even in this hi-tech age, unfortunately
