I'm still trying to figure out how the "pay less, get more luxury"
works. It sounds really like a dotcom: as long as you have the funding,
you can support a luxurious business that loses money. Once the funding
is gone...

I traveled several times to Switzerland (including with Swissair) and my
best experience was without hesitation with AA. Non-direct flight
(Swissair was), not the newest Boeing, american food, plastic forks &
glasses... but LOT of room for my leggs (much more than with Swissair).
  And for a 12 hours flight it makes _all_ the difference (at least to me).

If Swiss does not offer more room, I won't flight with them. Even with
real glasses, metal forks and fresh painted Boeings/Airbuses.
