Being Swiss is certainly not a problem (at least not in engineering).
Being male (and white) could be. Also, there is a lot of competition
due to the current economical situation (we have over 300 applications
this spring for two positions in our department).
In addition, universities tend to be more reluctant to hire senior
(i.e., tenured) professors, in particular if they don't have
prior teaching experience.
