Good morning,
with the recent messages about health insurance, I am inspired to ask one
too ....:
my boyfriend (not yet a citizen but applying for naturalization) would like
sponsor his parents, once naturalized, to enable them to come live with him
in the US, they are not US citizens. Both his mother and his dad are over 70
years old and they do have pre-existing conditions, although nothing major.
Of course, he would like good to get health insurance / health care for
them, however, a lot of insurance companies will not insure anyone older
than 60 or 65 years old. Also, his parents, other than for the duration of
higher education (his mother) and less than 5 years working as an engineer
in the sixties (his dad)have not lived or worked in the US.
Does anyone have any advice on what options there are to insure them or whom
I could contact on this? I have already looked at the websites of many
insurance companies and not found much helpful information.
Thanks,
Franziska Stalder
